I was going through some old pictures last night and came across some of this sweet, smiley little boy...

That was life before toddlerhood. No temper tantrums. No attitude. No disobedience. No time-outs. No teething! No saying "no" every 5 seconds.
Now that sweet little boy is "The Destroyer"...
Don't get me wrong, he's definitely still a sweet little boy. Sometimes. :) But its mixed with A LOT of orneriness. He's doing a really good job at "practicing" for the terrible two's.
This stage of course has its benefits too...I have never been more entertained in my life! And its nice to not have to spoon feed him, or carry him everywhere, etc. But that independence is coupled with a lot of disobedience! Not spoon feeding him means food is thrown. Not carrying him means he walks off to wherever he wants to go.
So last night seeing those pictures made me miss my sweet little unopinionated, obedient, tantrum-free baby. That 6 - 9 month stage is such a special time. They're personality is really starting to come out and they become such little characters without the attitude!
I'm excited I get to do it again with Phin. I get to do toddlerhood with Phin too! Oh, in fact, I'll have TWO toddlers at once! Maybe you could start praying for me now?! :)

Isn't toddlerhood SO much fun! Actually, I am enjoying the little person just not the attitude. I can't believe how big of an attitude a little 25lb person can have!
I'm laughing so hard at the picture of "the Destroyer"!!!! I've seen that face WaaaaaaaY too many times on Ava lately! :-)
Hi Kate,
I have been reading your blog for so long and you have just blessed me so much with your stories. My husband Peter and I have one son named Chase and I came accross your blog while googling the meaning of the name Mylo because we love the name and hope to use it someday Lord willing! This was a few months ago. Then I recall the "guess the baby's name" post and wanted to write something but wasn't sure what to say since this blog thing is new to me lol. In all honest to God truth, my guess was Phineas. Close but no cigar! God bless you and your family!
