Boys

My boys are a little bit wild.

And a LOT a bit ornery.

But they're also super sweet, kind and considerate.

Well...sometimes. ;)

The other day Mylo did something so sweet with his little brother, and I just have to share.

The boys were playing in the basement, and I was upstairs in the kitchen...within earshot, but out of sight...which can be very dangerous sometimes! Most of the basement is their playroom, so we let them "get away" with a lot of things we don't let them do upstairs. Like throwing bouncy balls across the room. :) Which is exactly what they were doing when I realized, through what I could hear only, that Mylo had hit Phin in the head with a bouncy ball. Then I heard this:

Phin started to cry, obviously.

Mylo: "Oh no Phinny, I'm really sorry!"

Phin, still crying.

Mylo: "It was an accident, I didn't mean to do it! Here, let me pray for you..."

At this point I'm sure Mylo put his hand on Phinny's head...

Mylo: "Dear Jesus make Phinny all better amen."

GAH! This was one proud mama! We always pray for the boys when they get hurt, even when its something small. We just think its important to set the example that when we need healing, big or small, that God is the one we turn to.

I went downstairs right after the incident and Mylo looked up at me like I was about to scold him. I told him I knew it was an accident, that he didn't mean to hurt Phinny, and I was SO proud of him for saying sorry and praying for his brother.

Ahhh...its moments like this that remind you there's fruit in every effort you make to turn your kids toward Jesus...even when they're wild and ornery!
