Blizzard 2008!

We were supposed to have our dear friends Chris, Angie and Sydney over for a sleepover last night.

But unfortunately, we're in the middle of a blizzard! I think we've gotten well over a foot in the last 24 hours. I'm soooo sad because I was really looking forward to seeing them. They are like family and we love them so much. I had everything ready to go for an awesome evening...

Sophie and I got the guest bedroom all ready, complete with roses (those were from her to Sydney)...

Got the dining room table set all pretty...


Made a scrumptious dinner, asian salmon with sweet potatoes. Here's a picture of the leftovers...


We're super sad they couldn't make it, but its not exactly safe to be out driving in this! For example...

Some idiot decided to take his Dodge Neon out in this! ??!!?! Yep, here he is stuck in our yard! Jon went out with his shovel and some 2 x 4's to try and get him out...


...that was to no avail. Our neighbor Leroy had to come tow him out!...

I hope that guy went out in this for some sort of emergency, like his grandmother was sick or something. But it was probably more like he ran out of cigarettes. : )

Chris, Angie and I were reminiscing about the blizzard we had in 2003 when we all lived in Colorado. We got 3 feet then, and were stuck for several days, everything was closed. Here are some pics from that...
