I'm getting re-acquainted with this area of my house...

It's been a loooonnnggg time since I've REALLY cleaned my house. I know, gross. I DO clean it, just not super-duper clean it. And you have to remember that I've basically been pregnant for the past 3 years, which makes getting down on your hands and knees to scrub something incredibly difficult.
Have you ever gotten to that point where you look around your house and are convinced if you don't do something about the funk, your kids will surely catch a disease of some sort? I've come to that point. I started today with my kitchen, and found myself doing the sorts of things you only do when you go through that "nesting phase" right before you give birth. (With Mylo I found myself dusting the legs of my dining room table??!!) Anyhow, I gave my kitchen a major overhaul. I even scrubbed down all the cabinets, baseboards, and oh-so-much more. How did I not notice before how much FUNK was crusted all over my white cabinets?? Or maybe I just got really good at ignoring it. ;)
Look at it sparkle!...

Here's what it normally looks like...

Ahhhhh...I'm feeling better already! Now I just have 3 bathrooms, 4 bedrooms, 2 living areas, a den, a dining room, and a basement to go!
How long do you think my stainless steel appliances will stay sticky toddler fingerprint-free??
My kids have both been incredibly cooperative while I took on the kitchen. Mylo even "helped" by snuggling me while I was on my hands and knees doing the lower cabinets. :)
Mmm...love that little snuggle machine...

(this pic was taken yesterday, btw.)
Well, I'm off to put Mylo down so I can scrub the hardwood floors! He's been good so far, I wouldn't push my luck by attempting the floors while he's up!
We put Phinny in the Bumbo for the first time yesterday! Stay tuned for some adorable pictures!

Believe me....I'm with you on this one. I am not one for spending money frivolously but I think I may have convinced my hubby to let me get a house keeper either once a month or every other week. I would be a huge stress reliever for me. By time I get home from work in the evenings, that's the last thing on my mind.
I'm totally in the same mood about my house being messy. All the clutter and toys from all five of us is driving my cleaning frenzy. I wonder if it's the Spring Cleaning mindset??? It's not the grime in my case (although I have some spots that need attention for sure)... its more of the clutter, stuff laying around, that gives the house the "messy look"!
Ahhh, such a good feeling though to walk out of a totally spotless room.
BTW... love your kitchen!
your kitchen is sooo cute! well done!
Im an anal cleaner. I get in fits of "must clean!!!" ... but it seems like as much as I do clean , in a day its messy again!
So I try not to stress abt it to much...
My biggest nift is if I cant find something due to not being organized... Id rather have organizations than clean baseboards, hehe
I did dust today tho.. its been months! (ew I know), but im not to proud to admit that.
:) i just read kellys comment. her and I are very much alike!
although ive been to her house, its not bad! She seems more organized than I do.
I feel you! I fired my cleaning lady today!!!! :-( :-( :-( YES three sad faces! This is going to be a hard transition for me but I know the best for our budget.
That is totally what my kitchen looks like too (as far as being messy). I hate it. I clean it all the time but it seems to just get cluttered again.
My home is need of a deep cleaning too.
I kind of got into one of those cleaning fits last night. I just had to clean...so off I went. LOL
Cute kitchen.
