My husband and I were pretty confident even before we got pregnant that this baby was going to be our last. With already having 2 boys, I'm not gonna lie that I was kinda hoping for a girl. What woman doesn't want a little girl to dress in cute clothes, to shop with, to bake with, to just be "girly" with? I always pictured myself having girls, so surely God would give me at least ONE.
When we found out we were having another boy for our third and last baby, I was definitely surprised. Not disappointed by any means...I just had to change my mental status to realize that my life was going to be all about raising 3 boys. How on earth does one go about doing that? And that I will never have a little girl to do "girl stuff" with.
But ever since finding out our sweet Desmond was a boy, I have come to realize some things. I really think it takes a special woman to raise all boys. I'm not saying that because I think I'm special by any means. I just see that raising boys is not for the faint in heart, and I'm only at the very beginning! I don't know how to describe it other than I know that God has to POUR OUT HIS GRACE on those of us with all boys because they are WILD! And because we don't get the opportunity to dress someone up all fru-fru and girly.
I have found that other moms I know that have 3 boys or more, and ONLY boys, are incredible women. I am in great company. I think other moms of boys will know what I'm sayin'. Even just taking the plunge and having a 3rd child makes me feel like I've "made it" somehow. Because everyone has just 2 kids...going for more takes some balls. lol. :)
All in all, being a mom makes me feel empowered and strong. Whether its boys or girls, it takes someone special to be a good mom. I sure am glad God has trusted me to do it, and that He trusted me enough to raise ALL BOYS!

I look up to you! I have 2 boys and I agree boys are WILD!! They have such a different tempermant than girls do. It does take a special mom to have all boys. Love your blog!
I just stumbled on your blog recently and I first wanted to say congrats on your little boy. I had my third baby three and a half months ago.
Second I just wanted to say that I find your post a little offensive especially because I am a mom to three girls. I don't feel that I belong to a special club just because I had all girls. The only club I belong to is the mom club.
Neither of my girls is quite or particularly girly. Yes I like to dress them up only to be horrified when I look out the window and see them playing in the mud. My girls are also as loud and rambunctious as any boy. They love to climb trees and play in the dirt and play with dinkies while also having a barbie or two or a My Little Pony thrown in the mix.
I also know some little girls that love to bring home the same little critters that boys love to bring home. Anyway I can only comment on the girls aspect because I don't have boys and this is our last baby so I will never know what it's like to raise a boy. I just know that my girls are loud and can be wild, love to play rough and are total divas!
Since I can't edit my other comment, perhaps offended is the wrong word. I just don't think I'm anymore of a special mom that one that has all boys or boys and girls just because I have all girls. I just think that I'm different. Ugh hope this makes sense, I'm not good with words.
