It's a favorite around here. And an easy crock-pot meal with leftovers. (usually.) Here's what you'll need:
(The most important ingredient being the photo bomber baby in the background. He's a ninja baby, I tell ya. Actually what's NOT in this picture is the ground beef. Substitute beef for baby.)
And you'll definitely want all this stuff too...
:: CINCINNATI CHILI ::
- 1 lb. lean ground beef
- 1 - 29oz. can tomato sauce
- 1 - 14oz. can diced tomatoes
- 1 or 2 small onions, chopped
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. allspice
- 1 1/2 tsp. chili powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1 tbsp. white vinegar
- 2 cloves minced garlic
- 3 bay leaves
- shredded cheddar cheese, macaroni noodles, crackers
First, brown your meat. With the onions. I actually left the onions out this time.
Put meat/onions into crockpot, add all other ingredients. Set on low and let the magic happen for 4 - 5 hours.
Cook noodles according to package instructions. Serve chili over noodles, garnish with cheese and crackers.
(this is a toddler's portion. yours will be bigger. much bigger.)
Final and most important step, take off your shirt and dig in!
